1. A very good evening, Council Members, Club Representatives, Affiliates, Sponsors, Friends of Singapore football, Ladies & Gentlemen. 2. Welcome to the 33rd Annual General Meeting of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). 3. First, I would like to place on record my sincere gratitude to all of you for the support and commitment which played a key role in the growth and progress of Singapore football during the past few years. Without the support and hard work of our stakeholders and partners, including the fans, volunteers, ExCo and Council members, clubs and officials, sponsors, government agencies, media and everyone in this room, we would not have been able to achieve most of our targets set out in our 2010-2015 Strategic Plan.

Ladies and gentlemen, It gives me great pleasure to be here today, as we announce some of our upcoming events to be held right here, at one of the best stadiums in Asia. I had the privilege of walking through the new National Stadium earlier and I am greatly impressed with what I have seen: a world-class standard pitch, dressing rooms, state-of-the-art medical facilities, among others. I am confident with one of the best stadiums in Asia, sports including football, will take a leap forward hosting our competitions here.

I would like to welcome our new partner Epson, as well as all of you, for being with us on this very important and exciting day. Today marks the day where we celebrate the partnership of two parties with a shared vision; that is to ensure the continued commitment to excellence and innovation. Epson is one of the world's leading manufacturers of computer printers, information and imaging-related equipment and I am thrilled to welcome them aboard as an important partner in our pursuit of football excellence in Singapore. Under the three-year sponsorship agreement, Epson will provide FAS with the latest office equipment to aid the development of local football in many areas which includes, but not limited to, new e-learning boards in the form of interactive projectors, and stadium projectors, two of which have already been installed here at the Jalan Besar Stadium. "I would like to thank all of you, including our new partner AirAsia, for being with us on this very important and exciting day. As many of you would have known, three of our National Football Academy (NFA) players, Adam Swandi, Mahathir Azeman and Royston Tan were invited by AirAsia for a football clinic in Sabah back in July last year. We were pleased to note that they had stood out and caught the attention of the coaches then. As you are aware, Adam has since signed a two-year youth contract with French side FC Metz. We are confident that more players will follow Adam in embarking on the journey towards professional football. FAS appreciates the support and opportunities offered by our partners which enable our youth players to train and learn from quality players on a regular basis – one of the key goals spelt out in the FAS Strategic Plan. We are thankful to AirAsia for the invaluable opportunity last July and today, we are excited to announce that AirAsia will come on-board officially and work with the FAS to further develop local football..."

A very good afternoon to all of you. I would like to thank all of you for being here with us for this momentous occasion. I would like to welcome Club Atlético de Madrid (Atletico Madrid) and its senior management to Singapore and also congratulate them for winning the Copa Del Rey. We will be signing an agreement with Atletico Madrid, which I believe, will greatly complement our current youth development programmes and other on-going footballing initiatives. The Atletico Madrid’s Youth Academy has, in recent years, produced the likes of David de Gea, Fernando Torres among other high-profile players. Our young players will definitely benefit from this partnership with the Spanish giants.

First of all, I would like to extend our appreciation to Canon for their firm support for the Canon Lion City Cup over the past few years. Your support has played a key role in our on-going efforts to develop and groom local football talents. For instance, Canon had provided Amer Nazri and Amirul Azmi, both from their respective national-age group teams, the opportunity to train at the prestigious Ajax’s youth academy for two weeks just a month ago. We believe they have benefitted tremendously from that experience, and have since relayed what they have learnt to their follow teammates...

I would like to take this opportunity to commend the Courts Young Lions for a good run in the S.League where they managed to crave out some good performances against several top teams last year. Apart from the team’s perseverance and display on the pitch, our success in various aspects in recent years would not have been possible without the continual support of our stakeholders, including fans, sponsors, media and relevant agencies...

A very good afternoon to all of you. I am very happy to be here today, at the Courts Young Lions pre-season press conference. As you would agree, the participation of the Young Lions in the S.League has significantly enhanced youth development in Singapore during the past decade. Many of the players who had represented the team during the early stage of their professional career have since progressed to the National Team and have represented the country in tournaments such as FIFA World Cup qualifiers and AFF Suzuki Cup...

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the LionsXII team for a successful debut in the Malaysia Super League and Cup competitions last year. The LionsXII, with their relentless determination and unwavering team spirit, captured the hearts of Singaporeans from all walks of life. The entire nation cheered as one people when the LionsXII played week after week against teams from across the causeway. It was indeed a pleasure to see the LionsXII put up a pulsating display throughout the season, as they covered every yard of the pitch to snuff out the opposition. As you would agree with me, their determination and passion is the perfect embodiment of the Singapore Spirit...
