Head, Human Resource & Administration

Job Summary

The Head, Human Resource & Administration is responsible for the development of processes and metrics that support the achievement of FAS’ strategic human resource objectives.  The position coordinates the implementation of people-related services, policies and programs and assists and advises managers on Human Resources matters.

Job Description

  • Contribute to and actively participate in the strategic planning process, focusing on the delivery of HR projects.
  • Provide professional leadership of the HR function by implementing continuous improvement strategies, development of key performance indicators and HR reporting systems with service outcomes.
  • Develop organisation wide strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues, contributing information, analysis and make recommendations to the General Secretary Office.
  • Coach, support, mentor managers in the application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and assist in the resolution of performance management and misconduct issues.
  • Implement human resources strategies by establishing management accountabilities in the areas of:
    • Recruitment
    • Induction
    • Organisation development 
    • Training and development 
    • Employee Assistance Program 
    • HR records management 
    • Succession planning  

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or other related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience, with at least 3 years in a HR leadership position.
  • Experience in Organisational Development initiatives is an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of Employment Act and local employment practices.
  • Strong leadership, good people management and problem solving skills
  • Able to perform both strategic and operational roles
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and oral.
